Best 3 Weeks of Summer in High School

The summer between my sophomore and junior years of high school, I was presented with an amazing opportunity to go abroad with the group: People to People Student Ambassadors. The trip was a 3 week cultural immersion in Australia. To make it even better, one of my friends from my high school was also invited to the same trip!

After a lot of begging and fundraising, my friend and I both started attending our pre-trip orientation sessions and packing while our parents fretted of the length of travel, the numerous waivers they had to sign, the cost, etc.

Because this was a structured program, we had a set itinerary and lots of cool activities and sites to see. The hotels were also really nice and our meals were included. As a high schooler, this was the only way a trip like this was feasible.

In those 3 weeks, we saw a pretty substantial portion of the east coast of Australia and I would love to go back one day! You can read about our adventures there on my retrospective travel blog, Aussie Aussie Aussie!
